Hi I'm Zoya

I am an East Asian- South African writer, actress/model and multi-media content creator from Cape Town.

 

My creative pseudonym started out as a tongue-in-cheek clap-back to my 'identifier' in the form of an Instagram handle. Through That Asian Girl I have created an online presence on social media as a content creator focusing on my career as a model and actress, as well as creating awareness around identity politics, biracial visibility and Asian representation. In every creative project - whether it be digital art, literary work, photographic creative direction, acting, modelling, a podcast or a reel- I try to thread in that tongue-in-cheek humour with style and the goal of sparking conversation around these issues.
